WATER SUPPLY INTERRUPTION – NEW PROVIDENCE PASSPORT OFFICE

 

The Corporation wishes to clarify recent press reports regarding an interruption in water supply to the Passport Office on Thompson Boulevard.

 

It is our understanding that a vehicle collided with the retaining wall in front of the Passport Office during the early morning hours of Monday July 06, 2009.  During this accident, the water service line to the building was damaged.

 

Staff at the Passport Office contacted the Ministry of Public Works Monday morning for plumbing assistance.

 

The Ministry of Public Works plumbing team contacted the Corporation Monday afternoon and a Corporation team was dispatched to re-install the meter, repair any damage on the Corporation side of the connection and restore the supply.

 

The Corporation works were completed on Monday afternoon when the supply to the Passport Office was restored.  The Corporation regrets the inconvenience caused resulting from the unfortunate vehicular accident, which damaged the supply line.
