Responsible for all aspects of financial targeting, planning, control and monitoring up to Group standard and to support the individual accounting functions in meeting the financial and management information needs of group management and all relevant statutory authorities.
To ensure that the following principal objectives and tasks are carried out to professional standards within each of the following functions: Management Control Information, External Reporting, Accounting and Insurance Systems, Credit Control, Expenses, External Audit and Internal Controls, Corporate Finance, Taxation, Staffing and Training. Also to assist in the completion and placement of all internal and external reinsurance contracts, the administration of Staff members and the strategic development of the computer environment.

During 1999 provided back-up duties to the Financial Director of the Latin America and Caribbean Region. This required spending approximately seven days per month in Charlotte, North Carolina, working on a variety of projects which included the worldwide Group Transfer Pricing and Inter-Company projects. Assisting in the consolidation and reporting of the regional financial reports to the Royal & Sun Alliance World Group Office.
Assist in the relationship and negotiation with Royal & Sun Alliance regional reinsurance programme which required a working relationship with international reinsurance brokerage firms such as Aon, HSBC Insurance Brokers and Marsh.

Responsible for the day to day operations and administration of the Finance and Accounts Department. Duties include investment management, revenue and banking management, general ledger and financial accounting reporting, payroll accounting and budgeting. Ensured that all controls surrounding such areas were properly and adequately functioning. Also responsible for the training of accounting staff.

Reviewed and audited financial statements of companies including banks, hotels and construction companies. Duties included supervising junior staff, planning audit engagement, reviewing clients' internal accounting and operational controls and recommending improvements where necessary. Also conducted special assignments which included fraud detection and client financial forecasting.

Responsible for the preparation of the fiscal financial statement and monthly management accounts, bank reconciliations and revenue accounting. Also prepared and monitored the detailed fiscal budget and cash forecast.

Mrs. Pauline Nairn, B.A.,A.A.,J.P.,CIPM
Deputy Chairman, Bahamas Water and Sewerage Corporation
Pauline Nairn presently serves as Deputy Chairman, Water and Sewerage Corporation. She was appointed to that position on July 1, 2009.
Pauline Narin was born at Pinder’s Point, Grand Bahama on 16 August, 1962. She is the daughter of the late Prescola Louise Hepburn (nee Pinder) and Loften Harrison Cooper.
She received her early education at Lewis Yard Primary and Freeport High School. Later she attended Indian River Community College in Fort Pierce, Florida, and Mississippi State University at Starkville where she completed studies in Business Administration. She is a certified Computer Programmer, specializing in the AS/400 systems and is also a Certified International Project Manager.
Pauline is presently employed as the Senior Business Analyst with Colina Insurance Company. She is a registered and qualified “Life” and “Other Than Life” insurance representative.
Pauline is a long time activist in community developmental affairs in her own community and throughout The Bahamas.
She was elected to Local Government in July, 1996 and has served as Deputy Chairman for the Pinder’s Point Township. She has served as Chairman of the Housing Commission for Grand Bahama and Chairman of Licensing Authority for West Grand Bahama. She also served as Chairman of the New Providence Housing Commission with responsibility for the Family Islands from July, 2007 to June, 2009.
She was been involved in numerous professional, civic, fraternal and sporting organizations, and has served as Captain of the First Grand Bahama Company of the Girl’s Brigade, Junior Achievement Advisor, and as a Leader in her Church’s Children’s Ministry.
She also served as First Vice President of the Business and Professional Women’s Club of Grand Bahama, and a member of the Bahamas National Volleyball Team.
A former Senator, Pauline served in the Upper Chamber of Parliament from April, 1997 to may, 2002. During that period she represented The Bahamas at Parliamentary Conferences throughout the region.
In 2002, she was appointed a Justice of the Peace for the Commonwealth of The Bahamas.
She is married to Archie Nairn, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture, and is the mother of one daughter and stepmother to three other children.
The Nairn family worships at Golden Gates World Outreach Ministries on Carmichael Road in New Providence where she is an active member of the Marriage Ministry and a Sunday School Teacher.
